Every car should have an emergency  kit and this is even more important in severe weather.   Your emergency gummy worm stash is a good start; now you just have build on it.

        Basic Car Kit

  • Cell phone  and charger – don’t use it while driving!
  • Water/snacks --  gummy worms and other non-perishables
  • Flashlight and batteries -- LEDs  are great
  • Thermal blanket
  • Boots/gloves/hat
  • First-aid kit
  • Ice scraper/snow brush
  • Jumper cables
  • Roadside-assistance membership
  • Spare tire

        Nice to have

  • Multipurpose tool/knife
  • Collapsible shovel
  • Poncho
  • Duct tape
  • Roadside flares/reflective triangle
  • Bungie Cords
  • Rags
  • Antifreeze

What else should go in an emergency car kit?   Does your car have one?
